IGE v2.1 released!

The Initiative for Globus in Europe (IGE) just released IGE v2.1 which is based on Globus Toolkit 5.2 and contains a number of additions and updates.

The current release encompasses support for the SLURM queuing system for the Globus GRAM job manager. It contains also the Open Grid Services Architecture Data Access and Integration (OGSA-DAI) software which is used for providing federated access to data resources in grids and clouds. Furthermore, IGE was working on the improvement of the integration between IGE release with the LCAS/LCMAPS security framework .

IGE managed to update a number of components. To this end, a new version of the GridWay metascheduler was integrated which adds functionality for submission to the Basic Execution Service (BES) and gLite services. An updated version of the GridSAM job submission framework is also provided, containing a new component supporting job submission through GridWay.

The IGE 2.1 software release is available from the IGE software repositories. It will be submitted to the Unified Middleware Distribution (UMD) maintained by the European Grid Infrastructure (EGI).
