The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca is a representative high education institution from Romania, which has about 12000 students and 600 academic staff. Its activity is focused in two main directions: education of engineers and scientific research in technical domains. The Computer Science Department, which is part of the Faculty of Automation and Computer Science, trains engineers in the fields of Computer science and Information technology. The Department's academic and research staff (more than 60 members) approaches a wide range of research topics, which address fundamental and applicative topics in Computer Science, Information Technology and Communications.
UTCN will work in IGE on all activities related to quality assurance, having appropriate know-how on many aspects of the project, such as training, application development based on Globus, operation of services. Having a key regional position, UTCN will partake to networking and service activities with focus on South Eastern Europe.
